  • Provide internal coordination to identify City priorities to develop an annual legislative platform.
  • Analyze and monitor legislation in coordination with departments to determine the City’s position on bills.
  • Coordinate with departments and City lobbyist to maximize legislative opportunities.
  • Provide updates on legislative issues to the City Council and City Management.
  • Work with other agencies in coordinated legislative advocacy.
  • Work with state elected representatives on legislative issues.
  • Coordinate and facilitate requests to create or amend City ordinances.
  • Provide staff support to the Law and Legislation Committee.

  • Identify opportunities to advance City’s agenda in the legislative process and assist on sponsoring legislation.
  • Identify and monitor bills of interest and advocate City’s position on those bills.
  • Actively seek amendments to legislation affecting the City.
  • Provide legislative updates to the Law and Legislation Committee and City Council.
  • Lead contract lobbyist on all activities related to State legislative matters.
